Greek Turkey Burger
Ingredients:
1 lb. of extra lean ground turkey
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tsbp dried oregano
½ tsp salt and fresh ground pepper
¼ cup non-fat plain greek yogurt
½ cup roasted red peppers (buy a jar or chop up fresh and roast them ahead of time)
¼ cup banana peppers chopped
¼ cup Kalamata olives, crumbled
1/3 cup feta cheese, crumbled
Directions:
1. Place turkey in large bowl. Add garlic powder, oregano, salt, pepper, yogurt. Use your hands to combine well.
2. Add peppers, olives, and feta cheese to turkey mixture and gently work into the meat.
3. Form four patties.
4. Heat grill pan over medium heat and drop burgers onto the pan. Grill about 6 minutes or until cooked through.
5. Place burgers inside a few leaves of lettuce, and top with a few tablespoons of tzatziki. Serve with sweet potato or one slice of Ezekial or whole grain bread.
